On June 12, 2025, the Astek group reached a new milestone in its commitment to the climate: its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the reference organization for trajectories compatible with the Paris Agreement.

An ambitious and structured climate strategy

Aware of the climate emergency, Astek adopts a global transformation approach based on scientific data and quantified objectives. Two horizons have been set:

  • By 2034, the Group aims to reduce its GHG emissions by 59% compared to 2023, an average annual decrease of 5.3%.
  • By 2050, the ambition is to achieve carbon neutrality, with a 90% reduction in emissions and the compensation of the remaining 10% through carbon sinks.

These objectives cover the three scopes of the carbon footprint:

  • Direct emissions (Scope 1),
  • Indirect emissions related to energy (Scope 2),
  • And all other indirect emissions (Scope 3), such as employee travel, business trips, or purchases.

« Net Zero 2050 means that 10% of our emissions (compared to 2023) cannot be reduced, but Astek can compensate them with carbon traps. »

An international mobilization

The success of this strategy relies on international mobilization. Twelve countries, including France, Poland, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, are already engaged in the process. Each country builds its local action plan based on its regulatory and energy context. « Carbon Ambassadors » have been appointed to lead actions and promote internal ownership.

First concrete actions

Several priority levers have been identified to start reducing emissions now:

  • Encourage the use of public transport (metro, tram, electric bus).
  • Strengthen data collection through more frequent carbon surveys.
  • Reduce office energy consumption.
  • Plan necessary investments in the 2026 budget with a return-on-investment logic.

Rigorous management to stay on track

To ensure that objectives are met, Astek implements an annual management system based on:

  • A complete carbon footprint at the beginning of each year,
  • Monitoring the evolution of emissions by scope and by country,
  • And the data coverage rate, such as the percentage of employees who responded to surveys.

Validation that strengthens the Group’s credibility

The official validation of the objectives by the SBTi constitutes strong external recognition of Astek’s commitment. It confirms that the Group follows a trajectory aligned with a scenario of limiting warming to 1.5°C, the most ambitious currently proposed by the SBTi.
This validation is part of a broader desire to make climate transition a central strategic axis integrated at all company levels.
